The unpredictable debut feature by Patrick von Barkenberg is bathed in dreamy atmospherics and streaked with offbeat humor, but remains grounded throughout by Winter, who holds your attention rapt. [Laura Kern]

VILLAGE VOICE
Resists the easy appeal of homage — it invokes classic formulas, only to upset them through extremely idiosyncratic methods. [Scout Tafoya]

Unpredictable! [Mike Sprague]
Explosively erotic, director Patrick von Barkenberg's feature debut is an exciting and claustrophobic Gothic fun ride. [Roger Costa]

It is not every day that you can review a great horror film, which is worthy of the name. Blood Paradise is a horror film directed by Patrick von Barkenberg and masterfully played by Andrèa Winter… [Danny Caprio]

Once more we take a creepy trip down Indie (Not major studio) Horror Hill. Beware of the dangers along the way or you might take a spill on a film can containing Director Patrick Van Barkenberg's BLOOD PARADISE. Fear not (or maybe you should if you are a jaded audience member) for this picture is the artfully funny, corpuscle spilling deal with a difference to be seen. The opening pseudo sadism attack handled wonderfully sets the film up.
